SHELTER INFORMATION: 

  • The American Red Cross Shelter has been closed at this time.
  • Evacuated large animals can be taken to the Siskiyou County fairgrounds, 1712 Fairlane Rd, Yreka, CA 96097  (530) 842-2767  Large Animal entrance will be on Sharps Road, Yreka
  • Cat shelter located at 431 Knapp St. Yreka, in the Poultry Building of the Old Gym at Yreka High School. The building is between the Yreka High School Stadium and Newton Park.
  • Dogs can be taken to Rescue Ranch, 2216 E Oberlin Rd, Yreka, CA 96097  (530) 842-0829 
    • This evacuation shelter will be closing on July 14th, 2021. All animals must be picked up before that date.

BE PREPARED:

What to bring with you when you evacuate (time permitting):

  1. Your identification
  2. Your medications/prescriptions
  3. Any important documents you might have or need (birth certificates, marriage certificates, insurance policies etc.)
  4. Any emergency supplies you need, including food and water for a minimum of three days
  5. Clothes and toiletries
  6. Pets and pet supplies

FIRE SURVIVOR ASSISTANCE:

  • People who find themselves displaced or evacuated from their homes due to the fire should first contact the Red Cross. The Red Cross will help set up a claim and direct to programs that can help in this time of need. Call 855-755-7711.
  • Evacuees are also encouraged to register at: safeandwell.org.  The American Red Cross Safe and Well Website is a way for people affected by a disaster to enter information regarding their welfare so that family and friends can check their status.
