High heat exposure can be very dangerous for people in any age group but can be serious for the very young, older adults, and people with existing health conditions including obesity. On hot summer days, it is important to remember how to protect one’s self and family from the effects of extended high heat exposure.
If one’s home or other environment becomes too hot, one is generally advised to visit a public indoor area such as a local library or community center.
