The Tehama County Health Services Agency (TCHSA) encourages Tehama County parents and caregivers to make car seat safety one of their New Year’s Resolutions. The Public Health car seat safety program is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The occupant safety grant award of $50,000.00 was awarded to promote the “Arrive Alive Tehama” initiative in Tehama County. The money from this grant will be used to promote vehicle occupant safety through education and outreach within the community.
To make it easy for residents to keep their New Year’s Resolution, TCHSA – Public Health will be hosting five car seat education classes in both English and Spanish that are open to the public. These car seat education classes will provide caregivers with the knowledge to confidently install their children’s car seats and better ensure their children’s safety while being compliant with the law. Class size is limited, participants must register by calling 530-527-6824 or 800-655-6854.
